What stupid shit is this?

This company will send an email out after you die.  But wait!  There’s a 30 Day Free Trial!

--
“And if you sign up now you won’t have to pay if you die within the next 30 days!  Tell ‘em, Jim what else we have to offer!”

“Well, Bob we will also spam to death all of your family and friends that you add to your email list.  That way we will have leads on dozens of potential clients.  So, sign up and remind them that you just DIED!”

I went to a wedding yesterday.

A coworker of mine got herself hitched yesterday.  The eight of us left another coworker’s house at about 2pm to drive 1 1/2 hours to get to a wedding that started at thirty minutes after we left.

The bride’s family is from Italy by way of Ellis Island I suppose.  But then is seems that most people in this area claim Italy even if their name is Guerrerro.  I digress.

The bride and groom were at the altar doing that stuff when we arrived.  After all of the church stuff, waiting, hospitality room stuff, waiting, cocktails and horse doovers, waiting, call for dinner, a toast to the bride and groom, waiting, first course, dancing, second course, waiting, dancing, ...  and on and on.  At 10pm the DJ said, “We have a lot more dancing left in the second half of today’s festivities”.

We didn’t leave until 11pm last night for the long drive in the forests of So. NJ.

Them Eye-talians shore know how to party!  Congratulations Mary-Ann and Dan!

How to discipline your children.

This is the contents of an email from a coworker.

“Much has been said about “tough love” for misbehaving children.  Most of America thinks it
improper to spank children, so my spouse and I have tried other methods to control our kids
when they have one of “those moments”.  One that we found very effective is for me just to
take the child for a car ride and talk.  They seem to calm down and stop misbehaving after our
little ride together.  I’ve included a photo below of one of my sessions with our son, in case you would like to try the technique.”

holy Cr@p!!

I attended an auction this last week after a special pre-view, pre-view.  In my first pre-view i saw what was to be the demise of my wallet the following day.  What did i see you ask?  well i saw an origional painting by Spanish Surriealist - Joan Miro’ - (one of my favorites) The bidding started low and went high.  higher and higher the auctioneer cried going once twice and sold to the man standing with his bid card in my face.  Well i have yet to authenticate the piece or even identify it.  but it came from the estate of the the late George C Scott - (movie star) and hangs strangley proud on my diing room wall.  an investment indeed, for what i understand it could be valued at anywhere above 50-large.  But for now, i sit with my painting sipping wine and cherrishing the time that may never pass us again - for now im the king and this is my museum.

Want to lose weight?

A guy I work with has come upon a novel idea for weight loss.

A DIET PILL THAT WORKS WHILE YOU SLEEP.

We just need to come up with the ingredient list.

My thoughts were to add ingredients that induce coma.  That’ll surely cause weight loss.

This was funny but sad too.

Today, I had to reply to an email from my supv.  This emailed reply was simply stating that I had read and understood a presentation that was emailed down the chain of command to all of the workers about the company’s stance on harassment.  The company stated in the presentation that no harassment is tolerated towards an individual’s race, sexual preference, sex, religion and some other stuff that is common sense to me. The company also says that it feels sooo strongly about the issues of harassment that it would prefer to send an email than to have a face-to-face meeting to say what the stance is (my words).

Just after I sent my reply, another coworker who had just read the same presentation said, “Which old Black Jew bitch faggot sent this damn email to me?”

Needless to say I couldn’t help but laugh at the sillyness portrayed by my coworker.

I didn’t stab him after I stopped laughing.

It is just preposterus to me that companies would rather send an email to save money than to have a meeting of this importance.  I must not really be that important.  Right?

No wonder there is rampant dishonesty in our workplaces these days.

Poor ol’ Martha.
Martha the scapegoat.
Give her Free!

I work with an asshole.
