Today was a good day.

I was off today.  Any day off with the (immediate) promise of being able to return to work is good.  Of course you must WANT to return to work.

We planted some stuff in the yard.  Trinity played in the sprinkler.  Momma sweated.  Daddy gulped cool refreshing water.

Today I registered “SOULPHOTO.NET”.  I am the owner of this piece of virtual real estate.  Soon, or late, I will start making moves towards making SOULPHOTO.NET a leisure making enterprise.

Stay tuned to this domain until I have the grand opening SOULPHOTO.NET.  It’ll be an event.

Leisure is my goal for the future.  I want to be able to afford leisure.

Before I chose that domain, I looked at others like; (I’m late for that one),, and (both bastards were taken),,  Those were all chosen.

I am swearing now because I have just reached down and scratched one of nearly a dozen mosquito bites on me.  NJ is an animal haven.  I believe that in the nearly three years that I have been here, I have seen more; biting insects, deer, wild turkey, ticks, geese, ducks, foxes than any place I have have ever lived.

Louisiana’s (Lousy-ana), motto on their old license place was, “Sportsman’s Paradise”.

They may believe it.  I doubt it after living here.

Anyway, today is coming full circle.  I have to work tomorrow and my mood is starting to degrade.

I better quit while I’m ahead.  Don’t wanna get grumpy.

I thought I was dreaming this morning when the alarm clock went off at 0445.  I couldn’t believe it.  Just two hours previously, I was outside in my nightclothes, letting my car windows down because it had started to rain.  There I am, in the rain wearing nothing but a pair of shorts.  I was out that early because I told myself that I would let the car windows down before I went to bed.

I didn’t do it because I had a reason not to.  I had something else to do.

Like..., make SAM’s cheesecake that I hadn’t baked because it was hot in the house when I got home from work.

Like..., make an entry on this site that noone reads.

Like..., put my camera battery on charge so that I could take it to out on the fishing trip today.

Like..., shave.

Like..., feed Trinity.

Like..., sit in the chair and enjoy a nice cool beverage.

Like..., anything else that fits into the category.

Well, I did most of those things, but not all of them.  I didn’t charge the battery.  Therefore you can’t see the pictures of the fish I didn’t catch today.  I didn’t shave.  I did feed Trinity and she was happy about it.  I think she thanked me.  I am happy about that.  Oh, I also did make SAM’s cheesecake.  It is rather tasty.  I make it better everytime.

Yes, I went fishing out in the bay with Randy.  Randy and his wife live in the first neighborhood that we lived in when we moved to NJ.  Randy is a former Marine that loves company.  At least that is what I tell myself when he and his wife invite us to their house.  I didn’t catch any fish but I did catch a shark.  A little three footer that seemed intent on keeping the hook that he pierced his snout with.  I didn’t let him keep it.

It is almost 1900 and I am getting ready to watch the latest Michael Palin’s travel special.  So, I’ll write to myself at another time.

If you care to join in, I’ll be surprised.

I am not grumpy

My mother said that she isn’t calling me anymore because I am grumpy.  I won’t go into all of the conversation because it is an oft told story that most of you already know.  Here is the short salient part.  Most telephone calls are disturbing.  Basically because most people are doing something else other than sitting around waiting for the phone to ring.  Well, at least, I do.  I am either watching TV, or changing channels, or on the computer, or playing with my daughter, or abusing her mother, or eating, or dreading another telemarketing call.

Which brings me to the point of this entry.  Save yourself some energy and visit  Finally, I have a reason to support one of G. Dubya’s Bush’s policies.  He took the time to enact legislation and create (read: approve) a federal registry to help keep me from getting grumpy.  This policy affects me directly and I support it.  However, I am sure that I will have to start paying more for goods and services because businesses will start complaining that because they haven’t been able to recruit new suckers, the cost for lost customers will have to be paid for by the current customers.

I don’t like that part.  Don’t think that will happen?  Think about this for a minute.

When was the last time your taxes went up?

Which taxes?

Any tax!  They all go up because of increased expenditure to provide services.

What services?

The services that you pay taxes to receive.  Doesn’t the state/local/federal/city already receive additional $$ each time a taxpayer comes onboard?

Then why doesn’t that additional $$ pay for the additional services used by the new taxpayer?

Well it is because our elected bleeder$ are ca$h hungry.  They want to be able to afford the big hou$e and big car and other big $tuff just like the Osbournes.

The same thing goes for busine$$e$.  Have you noticed a short time ago that airline$ started charging ticket purchasing customers a “fuel surcharge” on the ticket?  Shouldn’t fuel be INCLUDED in the price of the ticket?  Personally, when I drive my car on a long trip, I look for fuel that is cheaper to use.  The airlines don’t give me the choice of which fuels to purchase from.  They don’t even give me the chance to run in the redzone like I do so often

OK, maybe I am grumpy.

That is my explanation.  I welcome your rebuttal or agreement.

beetch dadi!

Today Trinity and I went to the beetch and played with the horseshoe crabs, Spirling, Minnows, sand, hermit crabs, and other yucky sea life.  The tide was coming in when we got there and we were able to enjoy the low water level in some areas of the beetch.

There were locals there catching fish and shrimp for bait that they will use for fishing tomorrow.  There were sooo many shrimp in the shallow water being pushed into the marshland with the tide.  It was interesting to me to see tiny shrimp and fish riding the tide.  Be gentle, I am a fella that is still “green” to this area.

Perhaps tomorrow, I will try and post some more recent images of us.

It is HOT here.  Although the breeze did just start to pickup and cool the interior of the house to below 90 degrees.  If anyone wants to volunteer to come and fan us, we would appreciate it immensely.

We do have some electric fans in the house that are being used now.  I have a small cicular fan that acts as if it has the Napoleon complex.  It blows air soo fast that it takes an effort to sleep in front of its wind-tunnel-ness.  SAM likes the fan that was given to us by Alondra because it oscillates.  I don’t like it because of that fact.  It does have a knob that will let it blow in one direction.  I figure that if you want the fan to blow air over your body, aim it towards you.  If you don’t want it to blow air over your body, aim it elsewhere.  Duh!  Just like in a car with air vents.  Aim them on you to get dry eyeballs, away from you to avoid an eyedrop dependency.

C’est la Vie!

Email notifications work now.

I was convinced that there was a simple explanation to why it didn’t work.

I don’t know what I am doing!

Please let me know that you are interested in this effort of mine.

This is like an answering machine.  We buy answering machines so that our friends/family/enemies can contact/annoy us.  I do this not for the shear enjoyment of playing on my Apple computer, but also to solicit some feedback from my friends/family/enemies to keep in contact with what is going on.

Email updates don’t work.

At least not yet.  I hope to edit some code when I get home this afternoon.

Keep trying though.  When it works, you’ll know.

Make a comment and let me know that you are interested in updates and I will send them to you manually.

I just got this thing to work last night, so be patient, Dag-Nabit!

My cousin Lawrence Hill

My cousin has been the subject of much media coverage in his home state of AZ.

Before I go much further with this, let me explain that although I know that Lawrence in my cousin, he probably has no clue that I exist.  The last time I saw him he was “knee high to a grasshopper”.  Waay back during the season 1989-1990, I lived in San Bernardino, CA.  Lawrence’s parent’s Janet and Larry lived in Rialto (just down the street).  It was then that I got to know little-bitty Lawrence and his younger brother Lorenzo.

I left CA during May of 1990, citing irreconcilable differences with the culture of So. Cali.  That was the last time I saw the young soon-to-be college basketball star Lawrence.  I am as impressed as I am sure his parents are that he has been doing so well in school and on the court.

Maybe one day I will be one of those loser family members that is the subject of discussions surrounding the unknown familial periphery of a sports star.  (what does that mean?)

I hope that when/if he decides to accept a well paid position as a member of a sports conglomerate, we don’t have to discuss my inability to accept the willingness of people to believe that an individual can EARN millions of dollars playing a game.

Care to fight about this? Email or post a comment.

If you are wondering where the “old” website is, then click here.

I’ve been playing around on the computer.  I think I have learned something.

Uhhh, this is another field on the default template that allows an “Extended Entry”.  I’m not sure what this is, but I type anyway.
