Ruby Dee?

In February 1976, Black History Month was officially observed for the first time to highlight the contributions that African Americans have made to U.S. society.  This month was chosen for the observance because the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederic Douglass are in February.  Did you know that at least two famous African Americans worked at AT&T?  One is the actress Ruby Dee, who was a telephone operator in New York.  Another is Dr. Clarence Ellis, the first African American to hold a Ph.D. in computer science, who worked at AT&T/Bell Labs and helped develop the concept of clicking on graphic symbols or icons
