Jamie Foxx a Winner at NAACP Image Awards
Date: Monday, February 27, 2006
Actor Jamie Foxx picked up the first major award for his musical endeavors during the 37th Annual NAACP Image Awards, taped Saturday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The Oscar-winner for “Ray” was chosen as best male musical artist for his album “Unpredictable.” He summed up the honor backstage by stating that music was “what I always wanted to do.”
Alicia Keys won for best female artist, and also took home top song and video awards for “Unbreakable.” Mariah Carey, who just earned three Grammys earlier this month, received a best album award for “The Emancipation of Mimi.”

I find it amazing that someone like Jamie Foxx does not have his career hurt when he uses racial language towards whites, while someone who is white, Mel Gibson, has his career hurt while he uses racial language towards Jews. The racism is the same, but the conseaquences are not. Could it be because a white man's actions are criticized dramatically more so than that of a black man's? This dual standard makes me wonder about those who cry "racism" at every turn, yet hide behind their own racism.
America has become such a wasteland for what is right and moral that I hardly recognize what history books taught me. So much for a country of equality, or one striving for equality. This country is lost in the fog of liberals and they seem to have the loudest voice. When will the moderates and conservatives take to the streets in protest? I doubt never. They are too busy working and paying taxes to help keep the minorities on welfare and governmental support.
You may get mad, but it's true. Sad, but true.

I find it amazing that someone takes a totally innocent post regarding an actor that won award in February no less to vent about something Mel Gibson did this week. Mel Gibson was drunk whenever anyone acts a fool in the public eye they are subject to scrutiny. This article was not about criticizing Jamie Foxx or Mel Gibson it was about giving praise to those who won awards. Now in light of Mel Gibsons recent developments in the news I will post that article for discussion but for the sake of argument, it was Mel in the news a few days ago for his barrage against Jews not Jamie and further more the man was DRUNK. Let it go. Liquid courage always brings out the worst in individuals. I don't think that a white man's actions are criticized any more dramatically than a black man's because let's face it when Kanye West was in the news stating that George Bush hates black people it was ALL over the news. The fact is it is NEWS and people just happen to want to hear about it.
As far as equality goes, this country will never be equal.

Boneman,Jamie Foxx and Mel Gibson are entertainers so we seem to care more about what they say than about what our neighbor thinks.
If Jamie Foxx has said anything spiteful against whites or any other "majority" group in power then he is wrong. I haven't heard anything about Jamie Foxx using hate speech anywhere. I'd like to rile against him if you'd be willing to post any details. (Post your interest and I'll provide you with a login and password.)
If Jamie says anything humorous about ANY group then there are always those that would claim he is wrong. I happen to say that humor (as with most speech in this country) should be protected. I think that the Bill of Rights has my back on this one. A person should be held accountable for their speech and the context in which it was presented.
Human society has widely accepted that the persecuted have a lot of negative things to say about those that persecute them. Some of those things are true. For a long time, conservative whites in this country persecuted those that weren't white. Hell, it wasn't until the past hundred years or so that Italians and Irish were considered white and they still take a lot of crap now. This means that the ruling class doesn't have the social right to talk bad about those that they have persecuted. The ruling class gives the power of complaint to those that have a right to complain, in exchange for the power elite to continue beating the asses of the downtrodden.
It isn't Liberals in Congress or on any soapbox that are squashing Freedom of Speech rights. It is our current neo-oligarchical government.
It isn't Liberals that attack immigrants (read: minorities), legal or illegal, that are trying to make their lives better.
It isn't Liberals that make up the population of hate groups in the US and around the world.
Remember, Liberals fought against Slavery and oppresion around the world, not early US Conservatives.
(FACTS FOLLOW so BEWARE)
Fact 1 Minorities are not the largest group of people on "welfare and governmental support". Single white women are the biggest group of "welfare and governmental support" recipients.

Fact 2 All wage earners, Liberal or Conservative, (are supposed to) pay taxes to support these women. Political leanings don't determine your tax bracket unlike our income which does.
Fact 3 Middle-class Americans, Liberal or Conservative, pay the largest cash/tax ratio of any economic class in this country. The richest 1% of Americans pay the lowest ratio of taxes.
