Well they finally got it.

L.A. City Council approves payment following errors in civil trial.

*The family of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. was given a $1.1 million payment from the Los Angeles City Council yesterday following errors that caused a mistrial in their wrongful death lawsuit brought against the city last year.

The penalty was levied by a U.S. district judge who declared the mistrial after accusing police of concealing evidence.

Biggie, born Christopher Wallace,” was 24 when he was shot to death in 1997 after leaving a Los Angeles party.  His family, led by mother Voletta Wallace and widow Faith Evans, sued the city of Los Angeles claiming the rapper was murdered by rogue police officers.

The $1.1 million dollar penalty will go to pay legal costs incurred by the Wallace family before the mistrial was declared in July. The family has said it will move forward with its wrongful death lawsuit and hopes to set a new trial date next month.
