Police Arrest Nude Man Stuck in Chimney

Now this is just stupid!

HAYWARD, Calif. — A man who spent five hours naked and stuck in the chimney of his stepmother’s home was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, police said.

Police say Michael Urbano, 23, locked himself out of the house early Saturday morning and decided to get in on a cable TV wire through the chimney.

But the wire broke and Urbano fell, getting stuck about three-quarters of the way down. He was freed when a firefighter pushed him to safety.

“We get him up, and he’s naked as a jaybird,” said Hayward police Lt. Gary Branson. “He tells us he took his clothes off because there would be less friction going down the chute. We did find his clothes. So that part checked out.”

Authorities were called about 6:15 a.m. Saturday. A neighbor heard “faint, distressing” calls since about 2:30 a.m. and decided to call police.

Police say it probably wasn’t a comfortable few hours for Urbano.

“He’s not fat,” Branson said, “but he used to play football. He’s not that little.”

This isn’t the dumbest thing to come out of Texas, but it shore is close.

This is about the most stupid thing I’ve heard this week.  It ain’t surprising that it comes from Texas though.  It seems that if you have two drinks in less than an hour in Texas, you can be arrested and sent to jail.  Since drunkiness is defined as having a blood alcohol level of greater than .08 persent, if you have more than two drinks in an hour, then you are legally drunk.  If you are legally drunk, then you can go to jail.  Apparently.

This seems to be the work of some born-again drunk individual trying to cleanup his home state.

That calls for a drink.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters)—Texas has begun sending undercover agents into bars to arrest drinkers for being drunk, a spokeswoman for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said Wednesday.

The first sting operation was conducted recently in a Dallas suburb where agents infiltrated 36 bars and arrested 30 people for public intoxication, said the commission’s Carolyn Beck.

Being in a bar does not exempt one from the state laws against public drunkenness, Beck said.

The Dept of Homeland Security says that paying off your credit card bill is a crime!

Big Brother needs to learn some manners.  This Post 9/11 paranoia is out of hand.  Since when is paying off your credit card something that we need to ponder?  This is really stupid.  So, now I suppose the Fed. expects us all to carry over monthly balances if we can afford to pay it off.  I see how this plays right into the hands of bug business.  The more balances you carry month to month means the more interest you pay big banks.  The more taxes the banks pay and now suddenly the Fed has money to continue the War on Terror.  Does this make sense to anyone out there?

Who knew paying down your credit-card debt can set off an anti-terrorism alarm?
Walter Soehnge found out the hard way.
The Rhode Island retiree said that earlier this year he sent a $6,522 check to pay off a portion of his JCPenny Platinum MasterCard.
The payment was received by the credit-card issuer but his account wasn’t credited.
It took more than a week to set things straight.
Why? Soehnge says the bank told him the larger-than-normal payment apparently triggered a suspicious-activity flag on his account, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security had to be informed.

Former Top Bush Aide Accused stealing $5,000

This is pretty stupid!  Why didn’t Allen just ask for a position with Halliburton?  He could have gotten millions of dollars instead of the measly $5k that might send him to prison.

Washington Post
Claude A. Allen, who resigned last month as President Bush’s top domestic policy adviser, was arrested this week in Montgomery County for allegedly swindling Target and Hecht’s stores out of more than $5,000 in a refund scheme, police said.

Allen, 45, of Gaithersburg, has been released on his own recognizance and is awaiting trial on two charges, felony theft scheme and theft over $500, said Lt. Eric Burnett, a police spokesman. Each charge is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

I just saw this book entitled, “A Guide:  Making Friends with Black People!” It’ s written by a comedian, (who is an African-American) , but, I am not finding it’s title funny at all.  He admits that he was bored, that’s why he wrote this book.  I am really not understanding this.  Tell me this friends, Do I need a better sense of humor or are you offended by this title like I am?
We come in so many different flavors, How can you know who and what I would like to meet, converse and interact with and then determine if I would call that individual a “friend?!” WOW!  Not in this lifetime is anyone able to put me in such a catagory, that they are able to read nor dictate my every move.
Let me know your feelings on this…

Kansas school board vows to make idiots out of its students.

What is up with these people that can’t seem to realize that science and religion CAN coexist.  Why must they constantly claim the Bible is the source of scientific thinking?  Well, it isn’t.  Remember, just a few weeks ago when the Bible and religious scholars claimed that the earth was flat and all of the planets revolved around it?  Remember also when those scientists were sentenced to death for promoting beliefs that were contrary to the church’s doctrine?  We seem to have the same thing going on now.  People are fearful of accepting scientific explanations for fear of being labeled a heretic.  This is just as asinine as saying that all Liberal politics is good and all Republican politics is bad.  Actually what Kansas did is far worse.  Shame on you Kansas!
TOPEKA, Kansas (AP)—At the risk of re-igniting the same heated nationwide debate it sparked six years ago, the Kansas Board of Education approved new public school science standards Tuesday that cast doubt on the theory of evolution.

The 6-4 vote was a victory for “intelligent design” advocates who helped draft the standards. Intelligent design holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power.

Critics of the language charged that it was an attempt to inject God and creationism into public schools in violation of the separation of church and state.

All six of those who voted for the standards were Republicans. Two Republicans and two Democrats voted against them.
