Please take the time to see “Earthlings”.

As we contemplate our future while discussing the merits of differing fuel sources, let’s also discuss how we treat the least among us, the animals we live with.  This is a very disturbing, but extremely important documentary.

I watched this 80 minute documentary last night and had difficulty going to sleep.  The images were too striking for me to dismiss as isolated events.  Understand that what is presented here is just the trailer.  I’ve read that the video is on Google Videos.  I haven’t checked so I don’t know for sure.

If you are strong enough to watch this video in its entirety, take the time to talk about it to the people in your life that you care about.

For those that wanted to see her in action and see how she got the name. You will have your chance.

Is it a coincidence that one day after Karrine Steffans appears on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” to discuss her years of being a self-described “video ho,” an adult video company announces the upcoming release of a film depicting her “one and only scene in the porn industry?”
Steffans, the author of “Confessions of a Video Vixen,” will have another skeleton from her closet tumble out via the forthcoming Vivid Entertainment adult film “Superhead,” also the nickname that followed her within the entertainment world.

“She wrote [“Confessions Of A Video Vixen”] to expose Jay-Z, Ja Rule, P Diddy and all these other guys in hip-hop, and now we can see her just before she joined those guys,” Howard Levine, national sales manager of Vivid, told AVN.com.

The film was reportedly pieced together from an old scene featuring porn star Mr. Marcus for his “Cool Spot” DVD. The new film, due April 19, uses the original footage as well as unreleased material from the shoot.

Tyler Perry’s ‘Reunion’ tops box office

This was a good movie for those that have seen the plays he did do some combining of stories to make this one but all in all, it was still great!  I recommend you see it and it has some funny moments too.  Madea does not spare the rod!

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Tyler Perry fans reunited at theaters for another tale of mad black women. “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion,” a comic drama in which writer-director Perry also stars in three roles, debuted as the weekend’s No. 1 movie with $30.25 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

It was a second gold mine for Lionsgate Films, which also released Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” the movie that opened as No. 1 with $21.9 million on the same weekend last year.

Lionsgate hopes to have a third Perry movie out over the same weekend next year, said Steve Rothenberg, the company’s president of distribution.

Jamaica Considers Banning “Brokeback Mountain”

Date: Wednesday, February 22, 2006
By: EURweb.com

The Jamaican Cinematograph Authority was expected to decide Tuesday (Feb. 21) whether it will allow “Brokeback Mountain” to be played in theaters throughout the country.
The critically-acclaimed love story between two cowboys played by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal is scheduled to premiere today at a single theater in the Kingston suburb of Liguanea. But its screening on the island has been opposed by the country’s clergy.

“Million Dollar Baby” movie review from a $10 guy.

WOW!

This movie is so very good.  Each of the three characters are so complex in this drama.  It is no wonder that it was awarded 4 Oscars.

The story is about a female boxer Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank) looking to become a better boxer.  She seeks a trainer in the form of Clint Eastwood’s reluctant boxing gym, trainer character Frankie Dunn.  He claims not to train girls though.

Morgan Freeman (Eddie Scrap-Iron Dupris) plays Clint’s friend, former boxer and boxing gym handyman.

Anyway, the girl gets trained, becomes a winner, tries to take care of her shi**y trailer trash family and starts to see the world through her boxing talent.

Everything is going great for the unlikely three until an accident causes everyone’s life to change drastically.

Take the time to go to the library to check this movie out.  You’ll be glad you did.

Aeon Flux is a Baaaad Girl!

I borrowed this comic video many years ago from a friend in Georgia.  Now it’s being made into a movie.  I can’t wait.

Charlize Theron has skinny legs, but that shoud help her as the super-bad, morally corrupt, Aeon Flux.

This is less a review than a public announcement of my can’t-wait’d-ness.

http://www.aeonflux.com/

This movie is based upon the popular animated spy TV show of the same title, which aired on MTV in the early 1990s.

In the 25th century, a rampaging virus has forced the remnants of humanity into the seclusion of a final city. There is great political conflict within, however, and this is the story of an acrobatic assassin, Aeon Flux, whose latest target is the government’s top leader.  Filming wrapped by the end of 2004, with the final budget coming in around $55 million.
